Among six stars to strip off for new photos designed to rai$e awareness of over-fishing are Dame Judi Dench, Fiona Shaw and Julie Christie. The snaps were taken for the Fishlove campaign taken to mark World Oceans Day on 8th June. They echo a similar picture of Helena Bonham-Carter released earlier this year. Each of the actresses involved covers her modesty with marine animals. Like Ms Bonhan-Carter poses with 27kg tuna and Dame Judi with a lob$ter.
The campaign aims to encourage shoppers to purchase only sustainably c@ught fish and highlights the dev@stat!on wrought by over-fishing. 80-year old Dame Judi told Sunday Times that she op*ted for a lob$ter because she ‘has a passion for them’ She said, ‘The best part of the shoot was that it is not every day you get to cudd*le one. The w0r$t part was that I didn’t get to eat it.’ She is particularly anx!ou$ to highlight the increasing ac!dity of the world’s ocean. This is a phenomenon caused by atmospheric CO2 dissolving in the sea. It can have a hu*ge impact on marine life and on the health of the lob$ter population in large amount. She added, ‘I have always loved the sea,’ she continued. ‘My brothers and I learnt to swim practically before we could walk, and swimming in the sea is unsurp@$sed. I hope the campaign will achieve aw@reness of what we are doing to the planet.’
75-year old fel*low veteran Julian Christie appears in a particularly dramatic photo that sees her ly!ng covered in small fish. She sho*t to f@me in classic films such as Doctor Zhivago. Christie who is po$!ng on bed of fish, se@weed and $hell$ with her hair f@nned out behind her is all about pre$erving the dog fish. 56-year old Fiona Shaw is seen $traddl!ng a plastic chair while holding a ru*by sn@pper between her legs, she is best-known for her role as Petunia Dursley in the Harry Potter films. 56-year old Author Kathy Lette is also a large dogfish. But she was photogr@phed ly!ng on her stomach, unl!ke Christie. Ms Bonham-Carter’s tuna photo went v!r@l in February, has already ga!ned some success. Fishlove was set up by restaurateur Nicholas Rohl and theatre actress Greta Scacchi in 2009.
